LINEAR STATIC ANALYSIS IN ETABS STEPS

1: Define the sizes of members

2: SCHEME A BUILDING
(orientation of column for GRAVITY LOAD
Afer first analysis we will check it for SEISMIC LOAD by Major and minor axis)

3:DEFINE THE MATERIAL

4:DEFINE SECTION PROPERTY

5:ASIGN_ COLUMN & BEAM & SLAB(check slab local axis orientation for one way slab for membrane because  shells do not  have an option of one way)

6:ASSIGN SUPPORT

7:STIFFNESS MODIFICATION (cracked section properties=slab0.25 ,beam0.35 M3,column.70for M3)

8:ASSIGN MESH IF IT IS SHELL THIN

9:TORSIONAL CONST( .0001 IN BEAM) MOSTLY there is a COMPATIBLE TORSION you can ignore it but check for some condition if it is equivalent torsion then you cant ignore these or simple you cant give torsional constant.001 beacuse of equivalent torsion)



(assign a release in ss beam also called moment redistribution IS456 22.3.1)
