                   TRUSS, TYPES OF TRUSS, ASSUMPTION IN                                                         TRUSS ANALYSIS
                     METHOD OF JOINT, METHOD OF SECTION, etc...

TRUSS: 

truss is a structure made up of several bar's which are riveted and welded together.

types of truss :

(1) statically determinate  truss ( if m=2j-3)

(2)  statically indeterminate truss   ( if m not equal to 2j -3)     

again it's divided into 2 parts.  

(a) deficient truss   (m<2j-3)

(b) redundant truss (m>2j-3)

 ASSUMPTION IN TRUSS ANALYSIS:   

(1)  all members are pin jointed.

(2) members are weightless.

METHOD OF JOINT:

in the method of joint, we make a free bod diagram FBD of any joint is a concurrent force system.

 mean, summation of fx=0, and summation of fy=0 

EXAMPLE: 

QUESTION: find the force in all members of a truss.

method of section: 

we use the method of the section when we don't have to find force  in all member of the trusses

in this method, we draw a section line 

and considers the smallest part
